Thomas Scientific Selects Allpower Generator To Install Their Kohler 400kw Diesel Generator

We are very pleased to have earned this project. Thomas Scientific is an interesting company with very solid management and we were able to get the type of feedback we value during the assessment phase. That really helps us identify what their needs are today but also consider what the company will look like in the future so we can factor that in to our system design. Thank you to the staff of Thomas Scientific for answering our many questions. You may not realize it but you played a huge role in determining what the right system design is for the company.

Allpower Generator to Deliver and Assemble 200KW Kohler Diesel Generator For a New Jersey School System

After months of planning and construction the school is finally ready to receive their new generator. In the commercial world this is actually not considered a very large generator, however, shipping a generator even this size is very different that what you may see for a small commercial or residential application. With diesel generators the fuel tank in known as a sub-base fuel tank and the generator sits on top of that fuel tank. That also means when assembled they are too high for transport on the open road. They are shipped in pieces and offloaded with a crane at the job site, the fuel tank is placed on the pad, then the the generator is hoisted with a crane and placed on top of the fuel tank for final assembly. When that is complete a platform is assembled around the generator so the mechanics can access the system for maintenance and service.

Kohler Liquid Cooled Generators Recognized as Best in Class

Being a generator company that services thousands of generators (with actual generator mechanics) puts us in a unique position to evaluate all the generators available to consumers and business's. We see them all and represent all the major brands. Here is our criteria for "Best in Class".

1. Reliability
2. Parts Availability
3. Warranty Administration
4. Software Availability

Those 4 criteria impact "cost of ownership" and directly impact what your experience will be over the long haul. All manufacturers present their equipment as magical machines that make no noise and never break. But in the off chance it does break there are thousands of Dealers standing by that can't wait to fix your generator at no cost to you. Of course none of that is true and you should consider adopting our criteria for Best in Class which is not influenced by a marketing dept., brochure, or infomercial. WE base our opinion on what we see in the field and the interaction we have with various manufacturers.

Kohler's  line of residential/light commercial generators is superior to all other brands in today's market. Well done. There is no need to follow the trends of other manufacturers and market an inferior product when you make a solid performer like your RCL series generators.

When you see Art Working on Your Generator Keep This in Mind

We wanted to make it a point to recognize and express our appreciation to Art Marino. Art is one of our service technicians. Beyond his skill and experience with generators Art was hired because we believe he has good core values. Art is a young man that is a Veteran of the war in Afghanistan. During the recent riots and violence in Baltimore Art was called up by the National Guard and deployed for over a week. Sad and shameful that was necessary at all. Art once again disrupted his life to keep peace with his wife and infant at home. We should all keep that in mind as we express our "first world problems" on  a daily basis. People do things for us that should be appreciated. Not just in politically correct gestures but in practice and in being grateful.

Storm Tips To Protect Your Home and Family

Of Course If You Have A Generator You Don't Have to Do Some Of These Things But Good Practices Nonetheless

Tips for Protecting Your Home and Family
During a Power Outage

From hurricanes and tornadoes, to seasonal storms and high winds, volatile weather can strike at any time, anywhere in the country. All homeowners need to be prepared for severe weather events. That's why the power experts at Kohler have developed a list of important things you can do to ensure the safety and security of your home and family during a power outage.

1. Assemble a dedicated storm survival pack. If you are not told to evacuate, having items on hand like batteries, candles, matches, flashlights, AM radio, water, and even extra cash can be useful if your area loses power. Place these items in a backpack or plastic bucket with a lid and store in a dry, easy to access place in your home.

2. Create a storm to-do list. This list reminds you of the important things you need to do before the storm hits. Things like getting prescription drugs, filling propane tanks, going to the bank, and filling your can with gas are essential.

3. Compile a list of important phone numbers. Essential phone numbers to have on hand include: utility companies, insurance company, bank, doctors, radio stations and local police.

4. Protect your chilled and frozen food supply. Before the storm hits, pack your most commonly consumed items like milk, cold cuts and leftovers in a cooler with ice. Turn your refrigerator/freezer settings to the highest levels to chill remaining food as much as possible.

5. Store water if you are on a well system. Store plenty of drinking water in clean containers. Also, store water in your bathtub so you can flush the toilet with a bucket of water when needed.

6. Inspect your basement sump pump before the storm. During a major storm, heavy rains can flood your basement, so make sure your sump pump is plugged in and fully operational. You'll also want to check that the float switch and balls are operating smoothly, that the drain is not blocked, and the discharge hose extends at least four feet away from your home's foundation. If basement flooding is a big concern in your area, you may want to have a battery backup on hand.
